"We had been wrapping up Mass Effect 3 and we just shipped Dragon Age 2 and we knew that our Eclipse engine, that we shipped DA 2 on, wasn't going to cut it for the future iterations of Dragon Age. "It was our decision," former BioWare general manager Aaron Flynn told Kotaku Splitscreen in regard to using Frostbite for Dragon Age: Inquisition. The perception is that Electronic Arts is forcing all of its studios to use Frostbite, which is borne out by nearly every EA title switching to the engine But some development leads have countered that belief. For fans, the engine has become a scapegoat for recent problems in EA franchises, from Need for Speed, to FIFA, to the Star Wars games. The last few BioWare titles-Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect: Andromeda, and Anthem-all had problems utilizing Frostbite during development.
The latter has been a common problem at Electronic Arts studios.
The report noted a lack of directorial vision, several mechanics changes, and of course, issues with the Frostbite engine. The answer was offered earlier this month when Kotaku's Jason Schreier published a fairly lengthy report on Anthem's development. BioWare's next big thing didn't seem like it had it all together, leaving fans to wonder where the six years of dev time went. This was probably the primary reason for the delay. After years of development, BioWare finally launched Anthem earlier this year to a wave of critical and community backlash. Coincidentally, dataminers found files related to GTA San Andreas' controversial 'Hot Coffee' minigame within the Definitive Edition's source code.

PC players didn't even have access to the game for almost two days after its launch. Several issues have resulted in the game receiving a Metacritic score of less than one out of 10 0.6 to be precise. While it's focussed on these DMCA takedowns, the reception of GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition has been anything but great. It seems Take-Two feels that if it manages to get rid of all these mods, more players will play the new and potential future remasters. And last, but not the least hilarious, GTA IV EFLC The Lost And Damned (65%) is basically just a save file that lets you start the game with 65% completion it's not even a mod. It also introduced new cosmetic items like biker jackets and icons.
The Lost and Damned Unlocked came out all the way back in 2009 and let you swap in Nico Belic, the protagonist of GTA 4, for Lost and Damned's Johnny Klebitz. The game was originally developed by Digital Eclipse for the GameBoy Advance.
GTA Advance PC Port Beta 2 was a fan project that was working on porting GTA Advance to the GTA 3 engine. RELATED: It's A Good Thing The GTA Trilogy Looks Janky

According to GTA modding site, Liberty City, Take-Two Interactive asked that the three mods be removed via a DMCA takedown (thanks, Kotaku). The latest projects to join Take-Two's DMCA crew are GTA Advance PC Port Beta 2, The Lost and Damned Unlocked for GTA 4, and GTA IV EFLC The Lost And Damned (65%). Now that the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition is out, we can see what the intent was, but whether it's justified is a whole different story. Rockstar's parent company has been on a spree of dishing out DMCA takedowns against any unofficial GTA fan projects that get onto its radar. Take-Two really doesn't like anyone messing with its games.
